| subject: | Australian USR Courier x2 upgrades |
Hamish, at 20:49 on Mar 10 1997, you wrote to Steven Anderson... HM> I heard the other day that K56Flex is far superior (and HM> faster) anyway. How so, when BOTH x2 and K56Flex are restricted to a maximum link rate of 53kbps in the United States? BTW, some people in the USR_Modems echo are reporting absolutely _incredible_ DL rates with their x2 Couriers. For example: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have never had a single 31.2Kbps or 33.6Kbps connection with my Courier. Below are my first two X2 connections to the USR BBS. Speed 46666/24000 Speed 48000/24000 X2 does indeed seem to provide a dramatic increase in download speeds, even in the real world of average-mediocre phone lines. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Incidentally, is K56Flex actually available to the general public yet?
