-= Pete Replied to Bill Grimsley about: Telstra/Motorola 56k announcement =-
G'day Bill
PC> Already got the brick tied around my neck, I was going to use my
PC> Courier but it wasn't heavy enough. :-)
BG> No matter, a new Austel SDL may only be a matter of 6-8 weeks
BG> away (if USR were being truthful when I spoke with them
BG> yesterday).
We can only live in hope.
PC> BTW Are there any 'Big Pond' customers out there anyway, Hell
PC> their dearer than my ISP and i live out in the sticks.
BG> Chris Robinson signed up for their 8 hour freebie deal, and is
BG> considerably less than impressed with their extremely slow
BG> transfer rates. Unless there is a vast improvement (and a
BG> dramatic price reduction), he won't be continuing with the
BG> contract. Might sign up myself though, just to get the free 8
BG> hours.
The 8 free hours would be the only reason, Maybe they think we'll have
to use them after all the other ISP's go broke paying the incoming
data call charges the're trying to levy.
Pete.
