| subject: | Setting for Modem Blaster |
DL> hey I own one too. DL> Just wondering what settings you used, ie com port, IRQ DL> etc ... and if you also had a CD-ROM, DL> coz I'm trying to set the IRQ to 3 or 5 instead of 11 DL> and am having all sorts of probelms with it. AS> Hello Daniel, AS> I have the 33.6 Creative Labs Modem Blaster and find it a good AS> modem. However I suspect you have an internal one from your question? AS> I have an external one on Com1 (I have a PS2 Mouse ) on the default AS> IRQ 4. Much easier than fiddling with jumpers and dip switches!!! AS> Actually a lot of people told me not to buy a Creative Labs modem AS> as they are not big in modems but I have been pleasantly surprised AS> with its performance. And it cost $169 at Harvey Norman!!! I am affriad I got my modem way over a year ago, at the inflated price of about $500 :( you are correct in saying I have on of the internal ones and I have to fidle with the insides :( wehn I find the time to do it that is :( however, most modems have the same internal parts the only major differnce is usally the case, software and sometimes the firmware that gets built into the modem. I am not sure about your modem, because I have never used it, but from what I have heard iot is quite stable, compare to the internal one which is half sound card and half modem. thanx for your time Cya l8r ... +---------------------+--------------+ ... | Daniel, Sydney, Oz | Email : N/A | ... +---------------------+--------------+ ...
