I looked around yesterday and my sixteen-month-old was
sitting up in the armchair, looking very proud of himself. Later I caught
him in the act of climbing up there and today he has been climbing up onto
the sofa and a rocking chair of sorts in his room.  He likes that one and
scares his mum by standing on it and throwing himself backwards to make it
bang against the wall.
