Hello there John ....

 JP> Hello Gary.

JP> Replying to a message from Gary Laming to John Piper ...

GL>> The other alternative, of course, is to upgrade to win3.11.

JP>> Or Windows 95, if his machine will run it smoothly ...

 JP> ^^

GL>> I didn't suggest that since mention was made of 'an old

 GL>> 386'.

JP> Being a 386, I seriously doubt it. It may run ... barely.

It will run if it's a 386 with => 4Mb on board. I tried it once (for a

bet) on a 386sx16 with 4Mb and it worked. Unusable to all but the most

patient, and a waste of time. Won the bet tho'. :-)
