After supporting and selling Netware since 1983, it seemed that Novell finally
created a marketing department worthy of the technical excellence of their
product. What a fantastic and creative marketing campaign!!!!
So what do they do?
Take away the one major benefit, the 20 tech support incidents per year that
used to be included with Gold.
Why does Novell always have to take 3 steps back when they take a major step
forward? We the dealers who know how good the Novell technology is are
getting frustrated with the way we are being treated.
I do not have a problem with paying to be a Gold Partner at all. I am fully
aware to get good support it must be compensated for. But when will Novell
realize it's the dealers that make them the money and continue to push the far
superior technology over MS ACTIVE DIRECTRY and their server products.
As a MS dealer as well, I don't have to sell NT, clients bang on my door for
it. But as a technology specialist, I know where Netware will shine and
continue to push it. Now with this change in the Partner program why bother?
With this major change, I feel Novell is telling me that they do not want us
to sell the product or worse yet we only want the multi million-dollar dealers
to be able to get the support they need.
Their are a lot of us small dealers who continued to support Novell through
the tough times and now we are being told in my opinion to go away go away
quietly.
How do your feel about this? Am I right or am I wrong? Let me know your
opinion.
