subject: SB16 Mixer

Greetings All!

Since installing Warp v4.0, the mixer that came with the Creative labs
CAPOS2.ZIP file,CTMIXER.EXE, simply does nothing. the sliders are at
the bottom when started, and it has no effect at all.

I tried a different SB driver (the one I was using with v3.0), but
DART was killed. So, I tried the original DART dll's, but that wouldn't
work either.

I've since tried the SB 16 Mixer SDSB16MIX.EXE, which I FTP'd from
the hobbes /new directory. It does work, but it brings the system
down savagely. The WPS has restarted itself several times, and the CD player
apps I use hate it (several undefined errors). To make matters worse,
if an application is started (eg Klondike Solitaire) while the mixer
is up and I'm playing a .MOD or a CD, the volume goes on full rip and
I get all sorts of video corruption! Volume controls cease to work
and a reboot is required. Oh, and Netscape/2 hates it too.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had managed to get the Creative Labs
one working, or knows of another mixer that's available?

It's obviously not a earth-shattering problem, but I'd still like
to mix!

Cheers,
Mark
