Are you on disabilitiy?

I have always chosen career paths that were not exactly friendly to diabetics.
I started as a volunteer firefighter to raise awareness that with an insulin
pump we can do everything that anyone else could. I had to fight to get them
to approve the training and they allowed me to go throught he volunteer academy
as a "medical" experiment. When I pulled out another student
from a controlled
burn that went bad they realized I was serious and let me remain on the
department.

I got my EMT license and worked on paid staff for four years until I decided to
try my hand at law enforcement. I made it through that academy and worked in
corrections for 12 years.

I have only recently had to take a break from correcions not because of
diabetes... but because of the rampant MRSA staph that the jail frequently
carries... I kept getting skin infections that were painful and bad.

I'm now looking at a position with the Airport security department.
