Hello there! I have a question regarding my Maestro 14.4 executive modem.
It connects and runs just fine on BBSes, and my ISP, other modems too, if
I'm just chatting or doing file transfer. However, I have yet to play a
successful game of Doom, Duke 3d, C&C, and others, with my modem. The
only two games I ever got it to work with were Descent and Line Wars II.
   It almost seems it doesn't like games that use syncronous transfer, like
the above. I think Descent uses asyncronous. I probably have those two
mixed up :).
   What typically happens with the non-working games is it either just
waits for the other modem to respond before going into the game, but waits
forever, or one of us gets in while the other person is disconnected. I
have tried various games with various friends, but none work. These friends
have no trouble playing with others over modem. Can anyone suggest a
solution?
