John, did you get a hyperbolic mirror also?  I had one guy in my class that
had a 10" that he was just not happy with.  I got him to finish up a
plate glass mirror that was about 1/20th wave and almost the exact same
distance from the back of the mirror to the focal plane (think about why
that one for a moment).  He is now very happy with his telescope and in
addition, while working on the mirror, he kept putting it in his scope and
doing start tests with it.  He said that even at a half wave accuracy with
a bad turned edge, the images were better than the other mirror. Bob May
