If you put in the average of all 12 readings, the reading SD would be
(worst case) .59/sqrt(12) = .17 mm, which is big, but not horrible -
Texereau sez, p. 85, the careful beginner can get ñ.005", reading SD
of .073 mm. Sixtests will tell you the resultant SD(RMS); 6 zones should
help a lot.
