I netmailed Rob too. The problem is alot of the chaos comes from
users on Rob's system. I don't know at this point but given the
simularities in the messages. I would suspect that some of the users
there post using more than one name. Maybe I should say alias as names
look to be optional there.

Maybe. But for someone to be effective in that echo they would need
some degree of support from the author. If he is happy with the conditions
then change is unlikely.
