My guess is it means a lot to other blacks that he's black.  In fact, judging 
by my own personal experience, he's gotten other blacks VERY excited.  So to 
ignore his race would be to bury your head in the sand.  The media is 
perfectly proper to acknowledge his race.  Like it or not, we are NOT a 
color-blind society.

He might be better than Jack was at age 21, but he has a looooooooong way to 
go before he passes the Golden Bear in terms of career accomplishments.  
Let's not get too carried away.  He's had a phenominal rookie year, but it's 
still too early to canonize him.
