| subject: | Video Card for OS/2 |
Jack, at 18:33 on Feb 23 1997, you wrote to Any and All... JP> Can someone please reccocend a suitable video card for OS/2 JP> and Win 95? I have an S3 card and finding drivers for OS/2 is hell. The Trio64 S3 764 chipset has become exceptionally popular of late, and given its price/performance ratio, I'm not at all surprised. Drivers are readily available from www.s3.com, and I'm currently using build level 3.03.01, having just updated from build 2.84.13 (no obvious difference between them, however). You didn't specify exactly what S3 chipset your card uses, but s3.com has drivers for all of them. A word of advice though, you MUST have 2Mb or more of VRAM in order to use the higher resolutions and colours. If you don't have access to the internet, and can't source these drivers elsewhere, let me know and we'll work something out (my boss can make them available for freq, for example)...
