subject: How to turn off sound for smartmode

Hi all

Could someone help me please.

I don't seem to be able to turn off the modem speaker using M0 in the init
string. The instruction booklet says L0 makes the sound low and M0 is
speaker always off - they don't seem to work!!

I have put them at the start of the init string immediately after AT and at
the end of the string but to no avail. I have tried putting them both in
and still noisy. My modem is too close to the baby and I can't keep
wrapping it in a towel to muffle the noise.

I am using Telix for win and the modem is a smartmodem 288.

Thank you all in advance for your help

Ciao Joe
