Depending on what programs you are having trouble with, you might be able
to reach their authors via email, fidonet mail, or web-sites. So it would
help if you listed the programs you need help with.

There are several very reliable programs available for patching RTE200, and
most work just fine on FAST systems. I've got a 2.33 Ghz Pentium IV level
system, and they work fine for me in most cases. However, any BBS program
built with Korombos's pascal toolkits remain unusable without hex-editing
work. The RTE200 is inside the TPUs that were used to build those programs
EXE files, and they just don't respond to programs like PENT2.exe.

You first have to ascertain if an EXE file is compressed, and if it is, use
something like UNP to uncompress it/them. Then in many cases they can be
rte200 patched. If one RTE200 patch utility doesn't get the exe file
working, you just try others until you either get a working EXE file, or
run out of RTE200 patch utilities.

Send me an email at ktidmore (at) bellsouth.net and I can email you all of
the usable RTE200 utilities, or hyperlinks for getting them. Donald
Tidmore.
