You got that right. All I usually get in a conversation is something along  
the lines of;

Guns bad.  
Bad guns, bad. 
 
And if disagree you're either a redneck militia type, or a lunatic getting 
ready to go out on your own beserker spree. Problem is I believe most people 
would give their freedom away and could care less as long as they still got  
cable-tv, a car to drive, and 3 squares on the table every day. Hell, a 
goodly portion can't even be bothered to vote anymore.

Hell. Woopie Goldberg is a gun owner. They did some tour of her home and 
right beside her bed leaning against the wall was a large assault shotgun 
of some type or another. Getting them to advocate gun ownersip and 2nd 
Amendment rights is another story.
