No. I liked the movie and only saw a couple of techical errors,
but it wasn't emotional enough and part of that was that John Milius is
better at stories about heros than tear jerkers and also an invasion was
considered to be a distant possibility so the usual human tendency to
engage in threat oriented behavior wasn't invoked here.
