Subj: Bre cpu issue followup
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe I have solved the cpu issue regarding the BRE games for the
system I work on.
First, I noticed in the autoexec.nt file that the command lh dosx was in
there. But running lh by itself only reported a bad command or file name
-- or the 2k equivalent :)
I made some minor changes to the config.nt file
dos=high,umb
device=himem.sys
shell=command.com /p /e:4096
files=75
Note that I'm not specifying any paths here, just throwing out the gist of
it. Let me know if details are needed.
Now for the kicker, what *really* made the difference and possibly the
only thing that was required.
The file _default.pif, I went to the "misc" section, and right there is a
setting to allocate cpu resources. I set the slider bar almost all the way
to the right.
Anyway, hope this helps; it's quite a relief for me.
