Actually the only movie I can recall seeing that was even semi-pro firearms 
was that film called "Red Dawn" (maybe?) About the invasion of the USA by  
the communists. At one point it had the bad guys tossing a gun shop for 
the records of who bought firearms and where they lived. But it was nothing 
like on the emotional level that you're talking about.

Can you even name any bestseller book titles? (Apart from Heinlein) 
I can't. There are some with Libertarian leanings, but nothing like would 
be read by the general audience. It's usually SF or Military Fiction.
