On a more serious note, there was a review recently in the NZ 
Listener about a book on apostrophes which intrigued me.  
Coincidentally, I read on fidonet this morning that... 

"I've started reading a popular book on punctuation and the 
abysmal state of its use, given to me by a friend of mine, "Eats, 
Shoots and Leaves" by Lynne Truss.  Encouraged by her book, people 
sent her examples of idiotic punctuation. One -- sent in by a 
Shakespearian actor -- was a sign that said, "Children Drive 
Slowly".  The resulting brouhaha prompted the town to revise the 
sign.

It now reads, "Children, Drive Slowly"."

Thank god none of this people have been here in NZ, where our 
dyslectic traffic engineers paint on the road such stirring 
messages as "WAY GIVE" and "CHILD THAT MIND" !
