I know it's hard to get a balanced diet that way, but I've functioned on one major meal a day and a couple of snacks. My lady, the one with the condition might eat a small meal in the morning, again a small lunch and then our usual dinner. YEp, exercise is one of the best ways to both keep the weight under control and the diabetes. The bad thing is if you overindulge in the exercise you have to watch your sugars because the body converts some of that stored fat to sugar, and then you need insulin to counteract that. Kathy's trouble is that she can't do the walking which is so necessary for good cardiovascular health. I'm still hunting somewhere secondhand a stationary bike for her to ride. When we were going to the health club (we lived closer to MEmphis and it was feasible then) she'd do a bit of stationary bike and some free weights for the shoulder problem, etc. then get in the pool which was real good for her. NOw that we live too far from the city to make three trips a week to the spa practical, and our memberships have expired the stationary bike is the best thing. SD> My glucose levels have dropped from 250 mg/dL at "idle" to around SD> 150 mg/dL. Still a little high, but working on that too. YEp, the stress, and you're more active, yes often looking for a job can be more physically strenuous than working at one . Good luck with it. SOunds like in some ways you're on the right track. That ladies' rollerderby ref thing could be fun too .
