It's an old fido term for the routing information on messaging... all
fido message has headers that are "kludged" out... the users don't see
them... and most sysops don't know they are there.  You have to read the
FTS Specifications to get more information on them.

I also think it's how my meter talks to my insulin pump... I really
think that it's poorly matched  and fits that description as well.
