Look at the url of the first page of messages.   Go back one page and look
again (eventually repeat for a third page).  There is a good chance you will
notice a change in the form of an incremented value.  If you do you can
probably change that number by a bit more than just one, thereby jumping
further back in time.  Try incrementing in steps of 50, 100 or even more
than that.

Assuming I can get to those pages, is there a way to export all emails in a
specific date period?  For example 7/1/13 - 9/30/13.
