Create a shortcut manually (right-click menu).  Change the icon for the 
shortcut (use Properties, Shortcut).  Drag the shortcut to the quick-launch 
bar (I presume that the quick-launch bar is what you mean by "task bar") 
and it is copied to the quick-launch bar with its substitute icon.
