Subject: Need Volunteers for Mestinon Study - US & Canada
-----
The other day Walter Berk wrote about the study being conducted of the
drug Mestinon, used in myasthenia gravis, for PPS fatigue; and about the
press release on his Web Site.
The study is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that
will follow 126 patients given either 60 mg of Pyridostigmine
(Mestinon), or placebo three times daily, for six months.
SAN FRANCISCO --
Today I spoke by telephone with the study co-ordinator in San Francisco
at California Pacific Medical Center. It is her understanding that all
six sites are still in need of volunteers. If you're interested in
participating there, you may call Kathryn Kandal at (415) 923-3604.
She suggested those in other areas call the following doctors' offices
for more information, screening criteria and participation requirements.
