Not here, I fear;  Auckland is on an isthumus between the Tasman 
and Pacific seas - inbuilt high humidity.  Its supported by some 
160 volcanic cones,  and a lot of scoria to absorb and reflect 
sunlight. What bush remains standing arount the urban area 
(Auckland has the largest urbanised area in the world, thanks to 
each house having a 1/4 acre garden) is rain forest.

Any form of precipitation evaporates - quicker in summer than in 
winter...  humidity is king here...
