Recently, I've been viewing posts regarding Alexi/Mail in this echo. As
many of ¨you are aware, I am the one maintaining the source code at this
time. As you ¨are also probably aware, I have not released any versions of
Alexi/Mail aside ¨from a very unstable beta since I received it. Lately,
I've been busy with a ¨contract job and job hunting in general. This does
not excuse my laziness and ¨lack of working on Alexi/Mail as I'm sure many
have been waiting patiently and ¨the patience is wearing thin.

I am working on the code and intend to release it. However, that I'm sure
does ¨not sound like much of a statement so I direct this towards Ernest. I
have ¨noticed that you are growing tired of waiting and want a version. So,
if I ¨cannot release at least a functional beta by the end of the year, I
can talk ¨with Larry and see if he agrees that I turn over the code. Please
do not ¨perceive this as a personal assault, just a recognition that you
are wanting ¨Alexi/Mail to be released. I do believe however, that if I
cannot release a ¨version by the end of the year, then I have simply kept
the code in mothballs ¨far too long. In such a case, I feel that I should
relinquish the code to ¨someone more worthy of maintaining it. 

Again, I apologize for my silence and laziness. Both I know are rude and
¨inexcusable. I am working on the code and hope everyone can allot me just
a ¨little more patience to see if I can hold up to my word.
