Jeff Smith wrote in a message to Thom LaCosta: JS> Before I presented the idea publically I wanted to get some JS> input from people and from you too. Let's see, I guess I also missed that message....but that's OK, you're choosing to do your business in a public venue. JS> There are several JS> concerns about the current state of affairs regarding the Elist JS> that people have expressed. I am trying to find them....apparently they didn't comminicate those concerns to me....please ask them to forward to me. Yes, they are....but that doesn't mean they are ignored. JS> That and the fact that you JS> have taken a number of steps to make the Elist unreachable via JS> netmail to many in Fidonet. Ah, routed netmail doesn't work? And email is not available? I'm tryiung to figure out how a Fidnet node could not communicate via either routed netmail or email....has the technology changed? JS> To me that says that your interest in JS> the maintenance of the Elist is diminishing. How would you know? I don't recall submitting logs to you. JS> Also as a result you JS> appear to be letting your personal opinions affect your treatment JS> of people that use the Elist. Another reason for asking Roy if JS> treating people equally and working to maintain accuracy and JS> integrity were important factors was because those are important to JS> me. Really, please tell me more.....be factual, as your opinions are simply that, opinions. There are folks in Fidonet of which I have very negative opinions....but they are free to list echoes, modify their listings, delete them....There are also folks in Fidonet who I respect quite a bit...and the same operations are available to them. JS> In preperation for the task of maintaining the/an Elist. I JS> registered a domain name (ECHOLIST.ORG) and setup a website to JS> support and provide HTTP access to the Elist. You could always do what I did.....put it up and see if it's used.... But I suspect you would feel more comfortable doing that after you've whipped up the troops a bit more. cya, thom http://www.tlchost.net/echolist/ --- GEcho 1.20/Pro* Origin: Home of The Other Robot (1:261/1352) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 53/558 90/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 236/150 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 633/104 260 262 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 261/1352 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
