Gus was heard babbling to Paul Nixon
about Firearms
PN> Oleoresin capsicum. Think "Mace" but more effective.
GG>
GG> Pepper Spray :-) Got it, or rather I don't got it. It's illegal up
GG> here too, unless you're a postal worker. Pretty sad state of affairs
GG> when even a defensive weapon is classified as too dangerous for us
GG> peons to own.
You might look around for "bear spray." Same stuff. Perhaps only
available in your western provinces? Dunno.
PN> Probably somewhat anal of me, but I've got lights all over the place.
GG>
GG> You're only anal if you also have a backup generator too ;-)
It's on the "must acquire" list. I'm just not in a hurry, so I'm
looking for something small and used.
GG> flash suppressors...well neither does a shotgun mind you, but the
GG> latter I doubt you'd need to fire more than once anyhow.
Possibly. Keep in mind that shotgun patterns at typical inside the
house ranges will not have opened much. Lots of people have the
mistaken idea that you only have to point it in the general direction
of your target to be effective...
GG> I'll certainly try. So far all I'm familar with are .22, .38 and 9mm.
GG> Haven't had the opportunity to try any other handguns unfortunately.
Ah, don't know about your situation locally, but it occurs to me that
the used handgun market is pretty soft in the hi-cap 9mm full size
category, as a result of so many folks going to the heavier calibers.
A good used Taurus or Ruger with 13-ish capacity in 9mm can be had
locally in the just under $300US range. Not a bad house or car gun.
