Well, if they are unable to sign Lofton then the trade was for what:
Grissom-Justice for Embree? Looks like a steal for the Indians to me. I
know they wanted to unload salaries in an effort to resign Maddux and
Glavine, but I have read that Maddux would like to play a little closer to
home in his final years. So signing him may be probable at best. Not really
sure that the Braves farm system is as well stocked as it used to be either.
But whatever the outcome the '90s have been great to longtime Braves fans
like myself who suffered through the 70s-80s.
