>MS> You can't see anything and it feels like you're being

EP>MS> Best advice is to sit tight where you're at until it's over and

EP>MS> I tend to carry a lot of gear and that includes extra water and

Rope with a toggle and loop setup. Fast emplacement and fast
removal.
EP>MS> Currently, I'm looking at getting one of those Russian copies

I'll let you know when I acquire one. I think that I'll have to
do it mailorder. No local suppliers appearently.
That aside, on a more RTKBA related issue, why isn't NRA
protesting BATF's new regulations concerning implementation of the
National Brady Check? Currently Nevada has an instant check that costs
$15.00 and handles NCIC, CEGIS and PLEMMS, which handle national state
and local checks, and it takes maybe fifteen minutes. Furthermore,
records of the check are destroyed within 60 days, so we don't worry
about centralized computer databases of gun owners.
Now take a good solid look at what NRA's supporting. You get to
pay both BATF and FBI, because they've decided on a separate charge for
the use of NCIC. You get to wait three business days before you can pick
up your rifle. And funnest of all, BATF end runs the legal prohibition
against establishing a centralized computer database of gunowners by
having Justice do that and I'm willing to bet that the separate charge
for the use of NCIC is going to cover the costs of that too, so that
they can claim that it's revenue neutral.
In short, a barely tolerable invasion of my privacy and
pocketbook is going to become a 24kt outrage.
And thus far, all that I've seen is a lot of silence from
NRA-ILA. Would you care to explain what this crap is and why we're being
subjected to it??
