-> DN> Don't tell me I don't know about those guys, I follow the Celti
->
->Certainly not close enough if you believe that Wesley is their ONLY
->talent (Which is what you said). Williams, Wesley, Walker AND
->Radja
Is that what I said?... funny how you didn't quote it..
I already discussed Walker earlier.. as I recall, I said Walker was their
only possible future star.. you said I wasn't paying enough attention to
guys like Williams and Wesley. So I discuss them, and you jump on me for
not talking about Walker.
As for Radja, I wasn't including him in our talks because he played so
little this season. If you want me to talk about him, I will. He's a
good-shooting power forward who can average 20 points and 10 rebounds a
night when he's on his game, but is known to be injury-prone (don't get on
me about this not being a default, you were predicting an injury to Kidd
next year.. I don't know that Dino is ever going to be healthy again) and
his work ethich has occasionally come under question.
I've discussed the other 3. So I don't follow closely enough? Ok man.
->and Rick Fox isn't scum, as well
Yes he is. Where the hell has he been all season??
->Put a guy like Duncan into the lineup and then you've got a
->foursome at forward that can rotate through the game and keep their
->opponents dragging to keep up with them. If Radja continues to be
->injury prone (and THAT's his problem, not some pschological
->mumbo-jumbo that you might think is involved), they've still got 3
->good forwards and a guy like Brickowski would be an asset on a
->limited basis.
This is irrelevant to our discussion. The topic is, is this the worst
Celtics team of all time? Not whether they'd be good or not with the
acquisition of Duncan. Duncan shouldn't even enter into this discussion at
all. If you're saying this team is a building block, that's fine. I
personally don't really see it, but I don't feel like arguing about it.
However, whether it's a building block or not, it's still one fucking
godawful team this season.
->You see scum, I see a Celtics team that has a pretty damn good base
->to build on. Even their guards would benefit from a Tim Duncan,
->especially since they've got some long range bombers that need to
->come off screens or get
->passes from a double teamed center (Which isn't going to happen
->with what they have there now).
See above para. If it isn't going to happen with what they have now, that's
another point for me, because it's another reason this current team sucks.
-> DN> I have completely the opposite opinion. With the right coach,
-> DN> team could aspire to such heights as the 25 win plateu. THERE
-> DN> CENTER, and with Dino Radja injured, as always seems to be the
-> DN> there is little power up front period.
->
->You're really NOT listening are you?
Not quite sure what you want me to hear buddy..
->This TEAM, as IT IS CONSTRUCTED, isn't
->that far away from the playoffs.
Bout 30 games out right now.. seems fairly far to me.
->Duncan would be allow them to be "one player
->away" and maybe, even good enough to make the playoffs. They've got
->several ABOVE AVERAGE 3 point shooters who would benefit
->enormously from Duncan's presence and his passing would be a great
->asset to the whole team. The only part of Duncan's game that is
->*lacking* is his free throw shooting and even at that, he's better
->than most centers when they enter the league. He's the most
->complete player that I've seen at center in a LONG time and as good
->as he is, he can't help but be better in the pros.
Duncan Duncan Duncan... who ever criticized Duncan? He's going to be
superb, and I hope the C's get him. Is he on the team right now? No. Are
we discussing the current team or the future team? I thought it was the
former..
-> DN> Scoring was a lot higher back then. 113.3 ppg was bad, but it
-> DN> the league's worst.
->
->They were 19th in a 22 team league. They WERE bad.
This is WORSE. Dead last. I'm actually surprised you haven't brought up
their scoring, which is in the top 6 or 7 in the league, amazingly. But
they keep finding ways to lose.
-> DN> The Celtic's, this year, are easily the worst defensive team in
-> DN> league, even worse than my Grizzlies, which is saying something
->
->That hole at center really hurts them. A guy like Duncan or Battie
->would cure a lot of ills.
I'm getting tired of repeating myself, but if you can't guess what my
response is to this, then talking to ya is a pointless venture.
->The Celtics aren't that far away from being set for a couple of
->years. I hold a hell of a lot more hope for their future than I do
->the Vancouver Grizzlies and the Grizzlies are losing in the worst
->division in basketball.
You're not going to get an argument from me about the Grizzlies situation.
The Grizz are probably the worst team of all time. They've saved the
Celtics from being the league's basement dwellers, and if that's isn't
pathetic, I don't know what is.
->They're not a good team but they're not so inept that they're going
->to be the worst team that you've ever seen, even as Celtics teams
->go.
As Celtics teams go, they ARE, repeat *ARE* the worst team of all time.
They are now 0-21 against teams from their own division, a division that
includes those nasty 76ers and those poor-shooting Nets. Not to say it's
not a tough division for the Cs. But no wins whatsoever?? If Bill Russel
was dead he'd be rolling over in his grave! As it is, he's probably rolling
over in bed as I type this.
