Dear Carlo,
you wouldn't be per chance related to the Carlo Hogeveen who wrote
UndoJump? ;-)
A very fine and useful macro, I have it already in my Autoload
list, bound to .
However, if you don't read a long file straight from beginning to
end, but frequently move between different sections, and page up
and down a lot:
that can add too many jumps to undo, and not all of them may lead
to where you want to go.
The "Move Bookmarks / QuickMark" macros are meant to give you more
control over where to move, e.g. between the currently read text
section, and those endnotes that belong to it. It's meant to be
an addition to UndoJump, for long, structured text files, not a
replacement.
>You don't have to explicitly place bookmarks.
I thought of using positions saved in a buffer, not bookmarks for
the QuickMark macro, so the user doesn't have to mind the special
'Z' mark.
But bookmarks are remembered by the "Save State" function, and
other macros also save them between sessions. That was too good a
feature to ignore.
