MM All,

Didn't mean to be so quiet. Don't know how much of my Summer nightmare I
managed to send but .... 

Background:

We live in a VERY conservative area.

A local Fundy City Councilor (& noxious lay preacher) had a public run 
in with the "Other Half" a while ago at a public consultation meeting 
over the use of a special park (was a gift to the city with 
restrictions) in the center of town. Councilor's Fundy Church use (at 
considerable reduced cost) the park each Easter. Hubby had to 'out' 
himself to demonstrate the HELL this church has put us local residents 
through.  They aural hijack the city by literally drowning it with their 
musical cacofony under the 'name' of "The Gospel Music Festival" - or 
better known as "Fundy Fest" by the locals.

As victims... I mean residents .... living under 50 meters from their 10 
meter tall speakers (aimed into my living room) I think we've a right to 
voice our opinion. & this is before the fact when my daughter was 4 she 
heard something over those speakers (that we as adults just tuned out) 
which lead her to ask why did the "Christians 'hate' her?".

OK wind the clock forward a few months.

This SAME Local Fundy City Councilor creep - while claiming he didn't 
know _who_ lived there ( sssuuurrreeee darling - next you'll be 
effing walking on water!!) - named our house in chambers as a "disgrace" 
& proof the City needed powers to enforce a certain standard of
"Style & 
Grace".

Luckily the local News paper turned it into a "Councilor picks on the 
Poor" story (they dislike the fundy wackjob) & we ended up smelling like 
roses of sorts. Hubbie was quoted in the paper asking what more could we 
do short of 'Rearranging the pot plants" out front.

In one foul speech, this jerk had us under the public spotlight when 
we'd gone nothing wrong other than been below the poverty line (that & 
spoke against his Fundy Fest being n the centre of town). He made 
outrageous claims like we had cars wrecks (the cars were not wrecks & 
had been moved 12 months earlier) etc, etc, etc. You only had to drive 
past our house to know he was full of crap. & by the feel of it about 
1/3 of the city _did_ during the following fortnight  OK they 
yard not perfect, but the (unpainted) house is structurally sound & the 
grass had been cut the day before the Fundy freak shot his mouth off 
(don't I wish).

I'm a pensioner it's feed the kid or 'pretty' the house & I know where 
my priorities lie. Wot is interesting is wot the ijiot _DIDN'T_  say, he 
carefully didn't comment about our religion (privately claimed to hubbie 
he didn't know) or his campaign about running 'undesirables' from the 
city. A Wiccan friend of mine finally gave up & moved 6 months ago.

There was a kinda apology - the jerk claimed the paper 'misquoted' him & 
that he didn't know the 'full situation' before shooting of his mouth. & 
the "City Council" was quoted a few days later claiming picking on us 
was a "mistake" 

But the story dives from here.

The Blind Father-in-law had been trying to repair an old shed out the 
back. As a result, He pushed himself way to far because of this ijiots 
comments. He & the 7 1/2 year old returned home (100 miles east) a week 
before X-mas for some quality pre-X-mas Grandparent/child time.

Monday before X-mas they were in a Shopping Center when he had a mild 
stroke (enough to loose conscious). She was the _only_ family member 
there & he never kept a 'emergency contact card' with him. As frightened 
as she was she did give enough details for the management to contact us. 
The thing is that Father-in-law has a terminal stroke in hospital that 
night (3 days after pushing himself 'cause the Fundy Freak's comments) & 
died on 25th December. (Luckily for us it wasn't Mid-Summer).

The Mayor wasn't impressed with her little bigot Councilor & neither was 
3/4 of Toowoomba. But his comments killed a much loved Grandfather.

Ever tried to arrange a funeral for a _VERY_ popular man in the 
X-mas/New Year break??

But as you can see regardless of how overtaxed I was before School broke 
- we've been over swamped since.



On top of this the cat got pregnant before we could get it desexed. I'm 
considering it a gift form the Goddess to bring a little rebirth into 
the house after all the heartbreak.
