BL> Sounds like you are in the 'know' on this.
BL> What's the ETA for G6 to be 'on station' ?
BL> Will G6 retain any of the users it had b4 ?
G6 at 99 degrees west went into service Wednesday morning (5/27/98) at
approximately 9:15 A.M. There is an "alignment slate" running on transponder
24 (at least when I posted this message there was!).
CBS is expected to resume full time use of G6 (at the G4 99W slot) Thursday
morning. There are several other transponders also in use.
One thing to note: G6 is a 10 watt / transponder satellite, while G4 was
at 17 watts / transponder ... meaning "your mileage may vary" as far as
signal strength is concerned.
Good luck!
