Subject:      Handicap Parking!!!!!!!
 
As we dig out of the tons of snow here in Wash. DC, I am very annoyed and
disgusted to find that every handicap parking space at the local giant was
piled high with snow!! ditto for several other store lots. At a time when it
is very difficult to travel outside of the car it is now nearly impossible
for one to get to a store because there is no appropriate space to aid
handicaped citizens. we called the local police, who promptly informed us
that it is not against the law to fill all handicap spaces with snow....ditto
for the state police!!!!!!!Not any apology, or any concern on their part just
a matter of fact--tough lady.
i intend to write to the county papers/county executive/county police/state
police etc. to complain about this lack of respect or concern for the
citizens who need the spaces expecially during a time of emergency. any
ideas????
