The original MSVC.NET was basically VC++ 7.0.  There's now also .NET 2003,
which is VC++ 7.1.  Despite being treated by MS as a "minor"
upgrade, this is really quite a large upgrade in terms of language
conformance.  The new compiler still doesn't conform as well as Comeau C++
does, but it's close enough to handle most libraries that do all sorts of
tricky stuff with templates, such as Boost, Loki, etc.
