Physician's, pharmacists and others may be overlooking this MAOI in treating
the more serious types of depression, that don't respond to Prozac, Zoloft,
Paxil or the older tricyclics - with their inherent side-effects.
Patients presenting symtoms of a hypertensive-crisis, severe headache, or who
upon questioning, may have eaten foods high in tyramine: aged cheddar,
fermented meets, anchovies...yet may not advise physicians of this
'nutritional supplement'.
There may not be the side-effects (especially drowsiness/fatigue); however, I
would be concerned if physicians and others have treated a patient who has
used this MAOI?
