Bob Lantrip asked me to share some of my experiences with sleep apnea. I was
diagnosed in 1987. I stopped breathing 108 times per hour and I have
forgotten all the other details. They did a surgery called UPPP where they
removed the Uvulla, part of the soft palet, tonsils and adenoids, to make
more of an airway. That only partially worked so I also use a CPAP machine.
It works pretty well, but I don't use it all the time. I still get pretty
tired, but I manage most of the time. I do use the machine when I start to
have memory lapses, or forget what I am starting to say. I wish I had tried
the machine before having the surgery so I would know if it would have worked
without the surgery. Now, I'm not sure if it is the combination or if the
machine is the answer. Good luck.
