Greetings, Patrick!!
While you were muttering to Tom Mckeever, , you spake thusly:
PR> -=> Quoting Tom Mckeever to Pat Wills <=-
TM> I will give you info on the POLIO
TM> List-server signup. You can also join ALT.SUPPORT.POST-POLIO USEWNET
TM> Newsgroup, as well.. AND, I understand, there is a POST-POLIO online
TM> conference on AOL every now and then..
PR> Tom,
PR> I'm in Toronto, Canada. Shortly I will be leaving the city, and heading
to
PR> establish my family in a much smaller city. I will be long distance from
PR> the BBS I currently access this forum, and will therefore be unable to
keep
PR> in touch.
PR> Is there any Internet address I could write to to keep in touch with all
PR> of the Post Polio subjects.
Will MISS you here, Patrick.. :-( BUT: Here is the INTERNET
information:
Welcome! This is a short periodic post about how the post-polio
internet resources are organized, and about how to access the
 information that's available.
There is an excellent reference area that can be accessed via
 WWW at:
                http://www.eskimo.com/~dempt/polio.html
Information can be retrieved via ftp from:
                ftp.eskimo.com /u/d/dempt/polio
 or ftp://ftp.eskimo.com/u/d/dempt/polio
There is a newsgroup named alt.support.post-polio. You can subscribe
to this like any other newsgroup. The charter for the newsgroup is
available at the above WWW site.
There is an active mailing list listserv that can be joined by
sending an e-mail to listserv@sjuvm.stjohns.edu with a blank subject
 line and
                sub Polio yourfirstname yourlastname
in the body of the message.
The mailing list and newsgroup are linked so that much of the same
information is available on either. Specifically, all of the posts
from the mailing list appear on the newsgroup. Some of the posts to the
newsgroup will not appear on the mailing list. There is a limit of 250
lines on posts send to the mailing list.
The mailing list has an archive facility if you'd like to look at
previous postings. There is also an online archive of previous postings
to the mailinglist/newsgroup maintained by Ron Stone:
For web browsers wanting to lock on to the Polio folder:
        GOPHER://otpt-gopher.ups.edu:70/1D-1:11442:Polio%09%09
For Gopher burrowers wanting to lock on to the Polio folder:
     otpt-gopher.ups.edu port 70 Selector D-1:11442:Polio
There is an IRC chat session on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm PST. To
connect, you use an IRC program and type: /join #polio
There is a list of recent medical articles on post-polio syndrome at:
                http://execpc.com/~epwoll/medindx.html
Check out Dick Spears new Rollin' Rat Web Page at

With thanx to Ernie Wollering!! :-)
Tom..
Take care!!
