Hi Tammy,
Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease include trembling, rigid posture, slow
movements and a shuffling unbalanced walk.
Generally the disease begins as a slight tremor of one hand, arm, or
leg. In the early stages, the tremor is worse when the hand or limb is
at rest; whenid it is used, the shaking virtually stops.
Later, the disease affects both sidees of the body and causes stiffness
and weakness, as well as trembling, of the muscles. Symptoms include a
stiff, shuffling, overbalancing walk that may break into into
uncontrollable, tiny running steps; a constant trembling of the hands,
more marked at rest and sometimes accompanied by shaking of the head; a
permanent rigid stoop and an unblinking, fixed expression. Eating,
washing, dressing and other everyday activities gradually become very
difficult to manange.
THe intellect is unaffected until late in the disease, although speech
may become slow and hesitatn; hand writing usually becomes very small.
Depression is common.
I hope this helps you some. It doesn't sound like a particularly nice
thing to deal with!
Good Luck!!!!!!
