I don't know if this is related to the issue at hand, however, I had a 
sysop here running Win2k and WinServer who had issues with BRE/FE and 
timeslicing.  Basically whenever a user entered the door, it brought the 
other nodes on the system to a crawl.  Not sure what he was using for 
settings, but he eventually took the games down because of it.
