Got it fixed.  Appears the "line" that slowly crawled up the screen was
an artifact of the ground loop that also caused the HUM in the audio.
Put in an isolation (75 ohm) transformer in the co-ax cable from the
cable company and that killed both the hum and "line'.
User now is very happy. :-))
