I'm not a doctor, either, but - wow - it almost sounds like you're describing 
my mother.   But I'm confused by the dialysis - does she have some other 
condition that requires dialysis?
 
The limited urinary output would seem to me related to the limited fluid 
intake.  Is it possible that she finds it difficult to get to the bathroom, 
or that she doesn't have the bathroom privacy she desires and that she is 
deliberately avoiding fluids?
