subject: Bladder Drainage..

Perhaps some opinions would help me understand what causes my urinary output
to remain relatively "normal" during the days; however, recently, when using
a Foley Catheter collection system - overnight - the output reached over
1,000 cc? Urination during the daytime occurs with nearly complete emptying.

The urethra is somewhat small; however, the prostrate is not enlarged, nor am
I overweight or have any known illnesses, such as a bladder infection.

To assure proper daytime drainage, the doctor has me doing
self-catheterization (clean technique) 4 X a day. This produces little
output.

I have heard about office procedures to dilate the urethra and wonder if that
would possibly help. Thanks,

Harry
