I see, Mary. I'm not very familiar with encephalitis(or how to spell it!). I
know it's an infection, usually in the brain stem area I think. Actually I
guess it could even be an inflammation of the brain, with resulting
paralysis.But as to whether it has or had anything to do with Polio in any 
ay
I don't know. The only thing I do know of that's what one might call a
"legend", is that an old, old, doctor that my grandfather knew at the time I
got Polio told Grandad that he'd never seen a child with Polio that hadn't 
been
around a dog that had been recently vaccinated for Rabies.Sure enough,when
Grandad asked my mother, my little Boxer had been vaccinated for Rabies two
weeks before I came down with Polio.The Polio virus and the Rabies virus are
very similar, in fact, and both have the same symptoms for awhile, except the
Rabies goes on to result in death.
Do you have any paralysis in your arms or back or upper body other than what
you mentioned? Did your insurance company refuse to pay your folks? That was 
in
a time when they didn't try to get out of claims so often.
