You know... That's what I've always though.
Why file down a spoon into a fork, just to eat soup?
It requires changing a lot of other ways of looking at
things, though, and if you are using compass points, then
it gets really messy unless you use 512 and approximate.
For rotating a display, however, where all you need is a full
circle of mobility and not exact degrees, then 255 would
seem to make sense. I've never attempted to do anything with
that idea, however, and probably won't.
I can run down to the local Best Buy store and get VC++ 4.0
Standard with a fully developed 3D/2D graphics lib and also
a sound lib for around $50, so I don't suppose I even have
any incentive.
