My mother has decided to stay in Ontario, on advise from her family Dr.
who basically told her that flying here could make the situation worse. He
told her she wouldn't have a Dr. to come home to if in fact she went for a
second opinion, but if she came here and needed medical attention that was a
different story. So she is going to a specialist at the end of May.
She is on a strict vegetarian diet, has to wear those surgical sup-hose
because she is retaining so much water. They say she has chronic
congestive heart failure. So what does that mean? They don't want to do any
sort of surgery, they say her heart is too damaged it is too risky.
But what do I know. My mom had triple by-pass when I was 12, now I am 27 and
I feel lucky that she has made it this long. They told us, she wouldn't make
it 10 years...haha! she did. But I don't like her quality of life, and
there must be something they can do.
Thanks.
