Hello Kurt,

KW>folks, i've got a question for you all and i'm hoping to hear from
KW>as many people who read these echos as possible...

OK, here we go.

KW>seen them as they're just about the only traffic these echos seem to
KW>get anymore...

Personally I run OS/2 and therefore am not troubled by virii but most of
the users of my BBS are running one or another carnation of Windows and
as far as I have been told they appreciate this info very much.

However, I do myself read the virus info you provide.

KW>than signal... clearly they have the ability to inform but just as
KW>clearly they are not contributing to conversations in any way...

I receive many echoes containing only bulletins and we need them.
They don't create any discussions but it's very nice to get them
automatically via Fidonet rather than going out to fish them on the NET.

KW>i want your input - do you think they make these echos less enjoyable
KW>to read? does anyone actually derive benifit from them? is anyone
KW>even there?

See above.

KW>i'd like to see discussion here, i'd like to see people bring up
KW>topics that have their attention... for example, what do think about
KW>princeton researchers creating proof of concept viruses for
KW>electronic voting machines in order to demonstrate the risks the
KW>current machines pose to the democratic process? what do you think
KW>about a malware researcher trying to make 100% undetectable malware
KW>using hardware assisted virtualization technology? what do you think
KW>of those mac ads that suggest the mac computers are immune to
KW>malware?

For my part I'm believing those ads. Nobody puts out any such ads for
OS/2 or eCS but they seem to be immune as well.

I and the users of this BBS will certainly read any input and maybe
even some may take part in the discussions despite a language barrier.

Have a nice day and keep up the good work,

Holger
